Featured Artist: Sofitel Hotel Philadelphia

My work will be featured in the lobby and public reception areas of the Sofitel Hotel. This sophisticated downtown hotel is conveniently situated near the Kimmel Center, Barnes Foundation and Rodin Museum. The architectural highlights of the hotel, such as a geometric lobby floor design inspired by Shaker quilts and crafted from seven types of stone, are a perfect compliment to my textured and expressionistic abstract paintings.

DIG at the Hamilton Street Gallery

Existentially, these are challenging times for free thinkers. We are continually bombarded with information designed to influence our every thought, feeling, and action. With perfect algorithmic efficiency, a trepidatious flow of tweets, alternative facts and fake news exudes an overwhelming sense of disturbing uneasiness. The lines between relevancy and irrelevancy, understanding and confusion, sense and nonsense disappear, as does trust, leaving us in a state of starvation for the truth. Fortunately for artists, our right to
free speech is still intact, so we can seek out the truth and DIG DEEPER.
This juried exhibition features works that examine the idea of digging, exploration, research and analysis, investigation, or excavation.

InLiquid is proud to present The Physicality of Painting, an exhibition of alluring paintings that seduce the viewer with rich texture, expressive movement, and exuberant color. The work appeals directly to the id, existing in the realm of instinct, pleasure, and intuition. The exhibition features five artists who accentuate the tangibility of their medium, creating artwork with an intensely physical presence.

Mythologies

Myths help us to transcend and navigate the overlaps of our collective worlds. The works in this group show curated by Virginia Walsh, Director of Exhibitions, explore how myths inform our understanding of constructed belief systems and help us navigate them while serving as a vehicle of primal human expression. Legends, folklore, cult, witchcraft, religion, sci-fi, and the occult, are considered, employing motifs of ritual, religion, and mysticism.
